Context
During the 2019 Covid pandemic, many schools were taught online, and this
allowed students to work from home. Students often collaborate with their friends or peers who live in the same time zone. But what if the student can work with
students who are studying at a different university and who live in a different
country with a different timezone?

Problems

1.  No opportunity to collaborate with students from another timezone

2. No student-exclusive app for school or personal projects.

3. Existing social platforms like Slack/ Discord were NOT initially designed
for student collaboration and lacked personalization features.
How might students living in different timezones collaborate on projects together?
Solution
A student application for college students to collaborate on projects
User Research
Insights
Personas

In order to help students, we must understand their goals and frustrations so
we can decide on the best features to include in the app. Let's welcome Amy and
Chris, two university students.
User Flow

I created the user flow to help visualize and understand how users interact, to
make informed decisions about the placement of features, buttons, and content.
Low-Fi
After creating the sitemap, I began visualizing each section, allowing for a
variety of visual solutions to understand the problems users were facing.
Brand
Identity
"XYZ" in the logo "TeamXYZ" represents the different student social
groups who want to join the collaboration community.

Since the app is intended for students, I opted for a pastel color palette
to create a gentle and inviting atmosphere. I selected the Lato typeface
to enhance the overall warmth of the design.
Solution

1. Choose an avatar

Students create their own fast and
customizable avatars based on their
answers to their current time zones
school, and field of interest.
2. Ice Breaker

Meet and add new friends by playing the daily ice breaker games.
3. Meetings

See your daily scheduled calls and track your project process.

Reflection

According to the results of the user interviews, many students liked the idea
of being able to collaborate with other students living in other time zones.
Working with people to solve real projects was inspiring for me.

Be mindful of the overall structure and focus less on details during the
early stages.
